School Improvement
School Improvement Consultants work with district teachers and curriculum directors to improve instruction and support professional development objectives while ensuring compliance with state mandates in the areas of curriculum and assessment. Services include facilitation of school reform initiatives, diagnostic and assessment coordination, research into best practices, grant writing assistance, and program coordination. Some of these programs include the area Spelling Bee, staff and student recognition programs.
Each of the four “local” school districts has at least one assigned School Improvement Consultant who assists the district curriculum director in a variety of ways. Professional development services are offered to individual schools, districts, and community schools based on individualized need and in specialized planning with these consultants.
School Improvement Consultants mentor, coach, model, and facilitate. School Improvement Consultants provide assistance in and coordination of educational projects, programs, and activities in such areas as:
- Academic and Behavioral Interventions
- Academic Content Standards
- Career Education
- Classroom Management
- Curriculum Alignment, Data-driven Instruction, & Assessment
- Developmentally Appropriate and Research-based Instructional Practices
- Differentiated Instruction
- Information Technology Integration
- Professional Development
- Resource Identification & Integration
- Scientifically-based Research
