Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System

Wednesday, September 13, All Day

The ESC of Lake Erie West is offering training on the Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System on the following dates:

  • September 13, 2017
  • September 28, 2017

All training sessions will take place at the ESC of Lake Erie West, 2275 Collingwood, Toledo, OH 43620.  Registration will begin at 8:00 with each session scheduled to start at 8:30 and end no later than 4:30.

This one-day session is required for all evaluators of school counselors. It is highly recommended that the evaluator and school counselor attend this session together.

To become a certificated evaluator of school counselors, an individual must successfully complete a one-day training delivered by an OSCES state trainer. Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of completion will be issued for verification.

During the training, participants will learn about the Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System. Within this system, the performance of each school counselor is evaluated based on multiple factors derived from the standards, as well as their ability to produce positive student outcomes measured by locally determined measures. The training will provide better understanding of the OSCES Framework and Model and allow practice of skills and sharing of resources and best practices in educator evaluation.

Fees are payable to ESC of Lake Erie West and includes lunch and instructional materials. Registration is not complete until fees are paid. Please send $100 payable to: ESC of Lake Erie West, Attn: Elaine Robinson; 2275 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43620.

Registration is through STARS. When you log into STARS to register, you should search for the keyword of either OSCES or counselor.
